Tehillah Houseboat
Tehillah is the Hebrew word for “Praise" and a trip on Tehillah will certainly provide an opportunity to enjoy God’s creation in the splendor of Lake Kariba. Tehillah is a unique boat with open-fold sides to give a total living space of 320msq. You never feel confined when you are on the boat as there is always a place to relax and a view to enjoy in the peace of Kariba. Silent once moored, Tehillah allows for the full experience of the sounds of Kariba whether it is the haunting cry of the fish eagle, the penetrating roar of the lion, the laughing sound of the hippo or simply the chirp of the night time crickets.
Smell the lovely aroma of a cup of coffee in the freshness of a new Kariba dawn. Then enjoy your bacon and eggs freshly cooked by our experienced chef as you sit and look out over the water only a metre beneath your feet.
After a day of fishing or relaxed reading you can sit on the top deck and enjoy a sun downer as you watch the magnificent Kariba sunset welcome another night.

Tehillah is a 15 metre long pontoon boat. Designed for open spacious coolness it has lower deck “walls” that can be opened out extending the lower deck by 1.8 metres in width to make the boat a total of 8 metres wide. These extended floors have fold up railings making the boat very safe for adults and children.
The lower deck is fully carpeted with four double cabins, the bathroom and two toilets, a spacious living/eating area and the kitchen. The upper deck covers the entire area of the boat with an 8-seater table, two fixed daybeds, two movable loungers, and a bar. The majority of the upper deck is covered, with an open portion and loose mattresses for the sun-tanners at the front!

Rooms
There are four identical double cabins, which have double cupboards and a dressing table. Two fold-out beds in the living area downstairs and mattresses upstairs make up the remaining beds for a full boat of 14. Children and singles often enjoy sleeping on the top deck in the breeze and with a view of the stars - there are six mattresses available in this case. Mosquito nets are provided for every bed.
Clients are advised to seek advice as to how best protect themselves against malaria which is prevalent in Kariba. We have a fully equipped kitchen and separate quarters for the crew.

Bathrooms
The boat has one medium sized bathroom comprised of a gas heated shower, basin and toilet. There is a separate second toilet as well as an outdoor shower for cooling off during the day.
Electricity

We run a twelve volt lighting system which requires no “noisy” generators to spoil the tranquill sounds of Africa as the sun goes down. A small generator is available to provide charging for all electronic devices.

Tender boats
There are two tender boats available throughout your stay for short fishing trips in and around the bays. You will need to purchase the petrol for these boats when leaving the harbour, we recommend 10-15 litres per day.

Vehicle parking
There are shaded parking bays available only 20m from the houseboat mooring. You will be charged a parking fee by the local caretaker of $5/day.
