Victoria Falls Waterfront

The Victoria Falls Waterfront is a new and vibrant development situated upstream from the Victoria Falls. It is designed to attract the younger more adventurous traveller (and of course the young at heart) who wishes to experience the Great Zambezi River, the wonder of the Victoria Falls and its stunning wildlife without great expense. It is designed to cater for all travellers, from camping facilities to good quality chalet accommodation.

There is a central dining complex with stunning views both up and down river, where the Victoria Falls spray can be clearly seen. A raised wooden deck stretches out over the river and there is a swimming pool. An open bar, restaurant area, reception, travel centre, merchandising shop and internet caf

 

Accommodation: 

Upstream the Waterfront complex boasts seven thatched chalets - three units overlook the river with the remaining situated in cool, shady wooded areas. The chalets consist of standard twin-bedded, family and executive rooms each with en-suite bathroom facilities. The total capacity is 48 guests.

 

On the riverbank overlooking Siloka Island is the Adventure Village - a cluster of 3m x 3m Bow Tents built on raised platforms, each with a small deck. This village accommodates 40 guests. The site is set amongst large trees in shady surroundings. Catering for the overland or self-drive market, there are also camping sites accommodating 90 guests. Guests staying in the village and the campsites have spotlessly clean ablution blocks, comprising hot and cold showers and toilets.

 

Activities: 

 The famous MV Makumbi, a 120-passenger double-decker cruise boat for river cruises. 

 MV Makumbi can also be utilised for private functions. 

 Game drives through the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park where White Rhino, Elephant, Buffalo, Wildebeest, Giraffe and other plains game can be seen. 

 The bird life in the area is both diverse and prolific. 

 Cultural tours are available to the Mukuni Village and Livingstone museums, as well as sightseeing trips to the Falls. 

 World famous White Water Rafting in the Batoka Gorge 

 River boarding, Canoeing or kayaking on the Zambezi 

 Horse trails 

 Fishing adventures 

 Gorge swings 

 Helicopter and Microlight flights over the Falls.
