Originally the residence of the District Commissioner of Newlands, York Lodge is a beautiful colonial house situated close to the city centre of Harare. Although York Lodge is situated very close to the city centre, the sound of traffic is almost non existent and it is a haven of peace and tranquility. It offers luxury bed and breakfast accommodation for the visiting business executive or holiday maker.

There is a spacious visitors lounge in the main house with satellite television and full range of drinks available. Soft drinks are complimentary.

The Newlands shopping complex is close to the Lodge with banks, boutiques, chemists, hairdressers, post office and several fast food restaurants. Some of these facilities offer discounts to Lodge guests. Also within walking distance are two of Harare's finest restaurants.We are happy to make reservations for you prior to arrival particularly if you are staying with us during busy periods. Alternatively light evening meals can be served at York Lodge by prior arrangement.

There are 7 luxury suites available, all opening onto wide pillared verandas and and overlooking a wonderful tropical garden. Each suite has an en suite bathroom with bath & shower. The rooms are either twin or double bedded, each with a telephone, satellite TV, hairdryer and ceiling fan. The owner, Maggie Kay, an accomplished interior designer, coordinated and decorated the entire lodge.
